September 2009, Excelsior Beach. The Italian actress and producer Maria Grazia Cucinotta, godmother of the 66th Venice International Film Festival, is photographed on the sandy beach.
The famous actress, within the festival directed by Marco Müller and organized by La Biennale of Venice, will be on stage at the Palazzo del Cinema during the inauguration ceremony, scheduled for September 2nd , and she will conduct the ceremony of the “Leone d’oro” on September 12th, 2009.
The cruise Chanel collection 2009 landed on the Excelsior beach
May 2009. The cruise collection for Chanel, Croisiere dedicated to the first fruits of summer and addressed to those people that travel in warm countries, has landed on the Excelsior beach in Venice Lido.
This is the first time in Italy for Croisiere and the choice fell on Venice, a city beloved by Mademoiselle Coco, from her first visit in 1920.

Excelsior Beach, 2011. The Outdoor Fendi Collection was present at Venice Lido with some of the most exclusive lines, which express the craftsmanship, the whole "Made in Italy", in a contemporary design. On the occasion of the 68th edition of the Venice Film Festival, Fendi Casa has furnished the Film Room, an elegant and impressive space in the garden of the Hotel Excelsior directly facing the beach, designed to welcome guests and media.

The Excelsior beach in occasion of the 68th edition of the Venice Film Festival, was the most sought location for events of this Festival 2011. A tensile structure, installed for the occasion directly on sand in front of the historic Hotel, has allowed the same beach to be the heart of social events, like the opening and closing party of the Film Festival, the show Venezia Fashion Night and the Unicef gala dinner.
